Background: We investigated racial and ethnic disparities in telehealth counseling among Medicaid-insured patients in outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) treatment clinics and assessed whether the clinic-level proportion of Medicaid-insured patients moderated these disparities.
Methods: Using New York State (NYS) Medicaid and statewide treatment registry data, we analyzed 24,814 admission episodes across 399 outpatient SUD clinics during the first 6 months of COVID-19 (April-September 2020). Our outcome measure was the number of tele-counseling sessions within the first 90 days of treatment.

Purpose: Two new designs of track spikes have recently emerged: spikes with a compliant and resilient midsole foam (eg, polyether block amide [PEBA]) and spikes that combine such modern foam with a carbon fiber plate. We evaluated the effect of these different spikes on running performance measures for middle- and long-distance track events in trained runners.
Methods: Fourteen females on a single visit performed six 200-m trials at a self-perceived 800-m race pace in 3 different spike conditions (Control, PEBA, and PEBA + Plate), twice in a mirrored order.

This study contributes to the field of environmental justice by addressing two key questions: (1) To what extent are racial and ethnic composition, socio-demographic characteristics, and housing-related factors associated with the siting of hydraulic fracturing wells in the U.S.? and (2) How have these associations evolved over time, and have demographic changes contributed to increased environmental justice concerns? Using a panel dataset from FracFocus and the American Community Survey at the census-tract level between 2011 and 2023, the findings reveal that hydraulic fracturing wells are disproportionately located near census tracts with higher percentages of Black and Hispanic populations, indicating environmental injustice towards racial minorities.

Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts, USA.
Background And Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate whether a 6-month (limited) course of early IVIG is an effective strategy for relapse prevention in children with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) versus only acute therapies or other early immunotherapies.
Methods: This was a retrospective multicenter observational study of pediatric MOGAD patients from the US Network of Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis Centers with disease onset between October 1996 and December 2022. Controls were matched to limited early IVIG subjects using a 3:1 ratio.

March 2025
Department of Medical Social Sciences, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, IL, USA.
Background: Vaccination is one of the most effective strategies for COVID-19 prevention. Monitoring and increasing vaccine uptake among youth and young adults (YYA) not only prevents the spread of the disease but also protects their health and well-being from serious COVID-19 illness. This study applied the health belief model (HBM) to understand the predictors of COVID-19 vaccine uptake among YYA in the United States.
