Purpose: Nurses at the study hospitals had implemented aromatherapy as an evidence-based intervention to alleviate nausea, pain, and anxiety in patients in the perioperative setting. Initially, they were approved to administer aromatherapy using large, multidose bottles with gauze as the method of delivery; however, nurses recognized that there were many disadvantages to using this method. This led to a nurse-driven initiative to create a new delivery method for aromatherapy with the aid of the Center for Innovation at the organization.

Aims: Accurate prediction of clinical outcomes following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is essential for mitigating risk and peri-procedural planning. Traditional risk models have demonstrated a modest predictive value. Machine learning (ML) models offer an alternative risk stratification that may provide improved predictive accuracy.

Background: Operative mortality for high-grade liver injury (HGLI) remains 42% to 66%, with near-universal mortality after retrohepatic caval injury. The objective of this study was to evaluate mortality and complications of operative and nonoperative management (OM and NOM) of HGLI at our institution, characterized by a trauma surgery-liver surgery collaborative approach to trauma care.
Methods: This was an observational cohort study of adult patients (age ≥16) with HGLI (The American Association for Surgery of Trauma (AAST) grades IV and V) admitted to an urban level I trauma center from January 2010 to November 2021.

Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) predominantly affects older adults; these patients have significant comorbidities, making them unsuitable for chemotherapy. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) along with anlotinib combination therapy as a first-line treatment in older NSCLC patients with programmed death ligand-1(PD-L1) expression<50%.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective observational study including 73 patients with advanced NSCLC treated at Nanjing Brain Hospital.

Background: Early physician follow-up after hospital discharge is commonly recommended, though whether it mitigates adverse events is unclear. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to examine the association between physician follow-up within 30 days of hospital discharge and risk of hospital readmission, emergency department (ED) visits, or mortality in medical patients.
Methods: MEDLINE, EMBASE, and CINAHL electronic databases were searched from inception to April 2023.
