In this paper, a comprehensive energy management framework for microgrids that incorporates price-based demand response programs (DRPs) and leverages an advanced optimization method-Greedy Rat Swarm Optimizer (GRSO) is proposed. The primary objective is to minimize the generation cost and environmental impact of microgrid systems by effectively scheduling distributed energy resources (DERs), including renewable energy sources (RES) such as solar and wind, alongside fossil-fuel-based generators. Four distinct demand response models-exponential, hyperbolic, logarithmic, and critical peak pricing (CPP)-are developed, each reflecting a different price elasticity of demand.

Planning has been studied in different fields of psychology, including cognitive, developmental, personality, social, and work and organizational research. This article looks at the planning process through the lens of motivation science, and asks the question, What kind of planning can help people reach their goals? We focus on the strategy of making if-then plans (also known as forming implementation intentions). We discuss what kinds of cognitive performance can be enhanced by if-then planning (e.

This study endeavors to tackle the energy requirements of the building sector by employing passive design strategies. However, there exists a dearth of comprehension regarding the energy efficiency performance of foamed alkali-activated materials. To bridge this research gap, the study proposes a solution in the form of a thermally proficient wall material crafted from ceramic tile dust (CTD), class C fly ash (FA), and Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag (GGBS), all of which are industrial by-products.

Financial portfolio management investment policies computed quantitatively by modern portfolio theory techniques like the Markowitz model rely on a set of assumptions that are not supported by data in high volatility markets such as the technological sector or cryptocurrencies. Hence, quantitative researchers are looking for alternative models to tackle this problem. Concretely, portfolio management (PM) is a problem that has been successfully addressed recently by Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) approaches.

Plans are formulated and refined throughout the period leading up to their execution, ensuring that the appropriate behaviors are enacted at the appropriate times. While existing evidence suggests that memory circuits convey the passage of time through diverse neuronal responses, it remains unclear whether the neural circuits involved in planning exhibit analogous temporal dynamics. Using publicly available data, we analyzed how activity in the mouse frontal motor cortex evolves during motor planning.
