Background: disordered eating (DE) and eating disorders (ED) can negatively impact athletes' health, wellbeing, and athletic performance.
Objective: this cross-sectional study aims to assess DE risk, body composition, and nutrition knowledge among elite Hungarian athletes.
Methods: DE risk was assessed using DESA-6H and EAT-26 scales, nutrition knowledge through the Abridged Nutrition for Sport Knowledge Questionnaire (A-NSKQ), and body composition with the OMRON BF511 device.

: The autologous arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is the preferred choice for vascular access in patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. However, in the long term, the primary patency of AVF is suboptimal, with an AVF failure of approximately 30% in one year. The aim of this study is to examine how the pre-operative baseline levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) affect long-term AVF failure.

Asthma is a major non-communicable disease whose pathogenesis is still not fully elucidated. One of the asthma research models is precision-cut lung slices (PCLSs), and among the therapeutic options, miRNA molecules are of great interest. The aim of our study was to investigate whether inhibition of miR-223-3p and miR328a-3p affects the inflammatory response in PCLSs derived from a rat with HDM-induced allergic inflammation and a control rat.

Background: Sex estimation is the first stage in the identification of an individual in the forensic context, and can be carried out from bone structures like the mandible. The aim of this study was to estimate sex from metric analysis of the mandible in cone beam computed tomography images (CBCT) of adult Chilean individuals.
Methods: Six mandibular measurements were analysed, five linear and one angular, in CBCT of adult Chilean individuals of both sexes.

Epidemiological studies indicate that heart failure (HF) prevalence and associated mortality are significantly higher among Eastern European countries as compared to their Western European counterparts. The significant financial burden on the healthcare system matches these sobering data. Thus, efficient programs for patients with HF have been called for.
