The anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap is a commonly used donor site for free tissue transfer, especially in head and neck reconstructions. The flap's success is primarily determined by the quality and quantity of its perforating vessels, which is why clinicians typically prefer harvesting from a healthy leg with intact vascular anatomy. Poliomyelitis typically causes unilateral lower limb paralysis, resulting in muscle atrophy and deformities.

The concept of "gender" refers to the socially constructed characteristics that define feminine or masculine behavior, which are constantly changing and can influence access to healthcare and patterns of help-seeking. These factors significantly impact forensic toxicology, a key area within the medicolegal landscape, forcing the adoption of a gender-sensitive approach to better understand the differing impacts of substances on men and women. Research indicates significant disparities in drug use between genders; men are more likely to abuse alcohol and illicit drugs, while women tend to use prescription medications.

As current surgical and pharmaceutical treatments only partially improve some disease features, we sought to explore a genetic approach. We show that an enhancer located 29 kb upstream of mouse Fgfr3 (-29E) is sufficient to confer a transgenic mouse reporter with a domain of expression in cartilage matching that of Fgfr3.

Distinct molecular subtypes of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) may show different platinum sensitivities. Currently available data were mostly generated at transcriptome level and have limited comparability to each other. We aimed to determine the platinum sensitivity of molecular subtypes by using the protein expression-based Lund Taxonomy.

Successful rhinoplasty relies on a deep understanding of nasal anatomy and precise nasal tip control for lasting functional and aesthetic outcomes. Structural grafts, like septal extension grafts, are instrumental in maintaining tip position and projection with minimal long-term changes. This article details a systematic technique to harvest septal cartilage that maximizes graft material and allows for effective septal deviation correction.
