To provide a comprehensive and updated mapping of observational studies assessing the relationship between periodontitis and systemic diseases through a bibliometric and visual analysis. A search was conducted using the Web of Science database, covering the period 1989 to 2024. The Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) from the US National Library of Medicine was used to categorize systemic conditions, focusing on terms unrelated to stomatognathic diseases.

Purpose: To investigate the impact on distance and near contrast sensitivity (CS) after fitting multifocal contact lenses (MFCLs) for presbyopia correction according to the scientific evidence already published.
Methods: Three bibliographic search was conducted on PubMed, Web of Sciences, and Scopus. Inclusion criteria were articles written in English evaluating distance and/or near CS in presbyopic patients using MFCLs, controlled clinical trials, and articles published from 2000 to 2024.

Preventing infectious diseases is an important public health priority to ensure healthy ageing and improve quality of life. Despite the risks of infections and other adverse outcomes, vaccination coverage in the African region remains significantly low. Poor vaccination knowledge is a contributory factor, and effective communication is crucial to bridging the vaccination uptake gap.

is a Gram-negative bacillus responsible for a wide variety of potentially fatal infections and, in turn, constitutes a critical agent of healthcare-associated infections. Moreover, is characterized by multi-drug-resistant (MDR) bacteria, such as extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) and carbapenemase (KPC) producer strains, representing a significant health problem. Because resistances make it difficult to eradicate using antibiotics, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) promises to be a favorable approach to complementing conventional therapy against MDR bacteria.
