The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical science has been widely discussed and debated. Topol foresaw that AI, particularly deep learning, would be used in a variety of applications, with users ranging from specialty doctors to paramedics [1]. He discussed how deep neural networks (DNNs) of AI can help interpret medical scans, pathology slides, skin lesions, retinal images, electrocardiograms, endoscopy, faces, and vital signs.

Gerhard Seifert is considered one of the leading German pathologists of his time. He was not only an outstanding scientist but also shaped the politics of university pathology like hardly anyone else. In the context of a national research project on the role of German pathologists in the Third Reich, it was recently discovered that Seifert had joined the Nazi Party.

Female physicians started to earn up their deserved places as late 1970's in the historically male predominant Radiation Oncology community. The first female physician emerging as a leading scientist in the Discipline of Radiation Oncology was Professor İbtisam Lale Atahan, who untimely passed away in 2007. This eulogy attempts to shine the light on her life, achivements and legacy.
