Numerous studies have documented successful instances of bacteriophage therapy in treating infections caused by extensively drug-resistant (XDRAB). However, the safety profile of phage therapy and its effects on the human gut microbiota remain areas of concern. In this study, we collected blood, sputum, and fecal samples from an elderly female patient during two phases of inhaled bacteriophage therapy targeting extensively drug-resistant (XDRAB).

Natural hybridisation among rare or endangered species and stable congenerics is increasingly topical for the conservation of species-level diversity under anthropogenic impacts. Evidence for beneficial genes being introgressed into or selected for in hybrids raises concurrent questions about its evolutionary significance. In Darwin's tree finches on the island of Floreana (Galapagos Islands, Ecuador), the Critically Endangered medium tree finch () undergoes introgression with the stable small tree finch (), and hybrids regularly backcross with Earlier studies in 2005-2013 documented an increase in the frequency of hybridisation on Floreana using field-based and microsatellite data.

The genetically attested migrations of the third millennium BC have made the origins and nature of the Yamnaya culture a question of broad relevance across northern Eurasia. But none of the key archaeological sites most important for understanding the evolution of Yamnaya culture is published in western languages. These key sites include the fifth-millennium BC Khvalynsk cemetery in the middle Volga steppes.

Introduction And Aims: Urine output (UO) in response to furosemide stress test (FST) can predict the progression of acute kidney injury (AKI). This study aimed to assess if changes in UO, urine spot sodium (USS), urine spot sodium creatinine ratio (USSCR) and changes in these parameters over 6 hours could differentiate between progressive and non-progressive AKI.

Materials And Methods: Fifty critically ill adults with AKI in acute kidney injury network (AKIN) stages I and II with volume overload were included in this prospective study.

Antibiotics are extensively used in livestock production to prevent and treat diseases, but their environmental impact through contamination of rivers and groundwater is a growing concern. The specific antibiotics involved, their sources, and their geographic distribution remain inadequately documented, hindering effective mitigation strategies for river and groundwater pollution control caused by livestock production. Here we develope the spatially explicit MARINA-Antibiotics (China-1.
