Previous investigations have explored the involvement of wolves in parasitic and viral diseases, but data on the zoonotic bacteria are limited. The aim of this study was to assess the occurrence of bacterial zoonotic agents in 16 wolf () fecal samples collected in a protected area in Central Italy. spp.

Aging has a significant impact on the immune system, leading to a gradual decline in immune function and changes in the body's ability to respond to bacterial infections. Non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM), also known as atypical mycobacteria or environmental mycobacteria, are commonly found in soil, water, and various environmental sources. While many NTM species are considered opportunistic pathogens, some can cause significant infections, particularly in individuals with compromised immune systems, such as older individuals.

Objectives: Immunogenicity between 15-valent V114 (PCV15) and 20-valent PCV20 pneumococcal conjugate vaccines in healthy infants is compared in an indirect treatment comparison and matching-adjusted indirect comparison. Hypotheses: immunogenicity of V114 is non-inferior to PCV20 for all PCV13 serotypes, and superior to PCV20 for serotype 3 based on lower bound margins.

Methods: Two phase 3 pivotal studies on 3 + 1 pediatric vaccination schedule at age 2, 4, 6, and 12-15 months compared V114 ( = 858) to PCV13 ( = 856) and PCV20 ( = 1001) to PCV13 ( = 987).

Bovine pasteurellosis, caused by serogroups A, B, and E of (Pm), is mainly manifested as bovine respiratory disease (BRD) and hemorrhagic septicemia (HS). The disease has caused a great economic loss for the cattle industry globally. Therefore, identifying the Pm serogroups is critical for optimal diagnosis and subsequent clinical treatment and even epidemiological studies.

Reverse vaccinology (RV) consists in the identification of potentially protective antigens expressed by any organism starting from genomic information and derived from in silico analysis, with the aim of promoting the discovery of new candidate vaccines against different types of pathogens. This approach makes use of bioinformatics techniques to screen the whole genomic sequence of a specific pathogen for the identification of the epitopes that could elicit the best immune response. The use of in silico techniques allows to reduce dramatically both the time and cost required for the identification of a potential vaccine, also facilitating the laborious process of selection of those antigens that, with a traditional approach, would be completely impossible to detect or culture.
