To explore the effect of lipophilicity on antilipidemic activity in the Triton WR-1339 induced hyperlipidemic rat model we synthesized the 6-cyclohexyl, phenyl, and phenoxy analogs of ethyl chroman-2-carboxylate. Results obtained were analyzed in light of the biological activity observed for the 6-chloro-substituted and unsubstituted chromans, the 6-chlorochroman-4-one ester, and the 6-chloro-, phenyl-, and phenoxychromone esters. The suggestion is made that chromones likely exert their antilipidemic effects by a somewhat different set of mechanisms than do the chromans and clofibrate. Whereas the 6-chlorochromanone ester is inactive, the 6-chlorochromone ester is active in both normal and hyperlipidemic Sprague-Dawley rats. The major differential effect was observed for ethyl 6-cyclohexylchroman-2-carboxylate which did not lower cholesterol levels but returned triglyceride levels to normal in hyperlipidemic rats.

Five new alkyl zinc complexes supported by different formylfluorenimide ligands were prepared and characterized. Complex 1 was obtained by the reaction of 9-[N(CH)-Cy-NCH]Fl (Cy = 2-cyclohexyl) (Fl = fluorenylL1 with diethylzinc (ZnEt) in tetrahydrofuran. Objective: To investigate neuroinflammation in Parkinson's disease (PD) with [C]PBR28 positron emission tomography (PET) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers, and the relationship to dopaminergic functioning measured with 6-[F]-fluoro-L-dopa ([F]FDOPA) PET.
Methods: The clinical cohort consisted of 20 subjects with PD and 51 healthy controls (HC). All HC and 15 PD participants underwent [C]PBR28 High Resolution Research Tomograph (HRRT) PET for the quantitative assessment of cerebral binding to the translocator protein (TSPO), a neuroinflammation marker.

PeT-based fluorescent probes were demonstrated to be powerful tools for detection and imaging, owing to their significant fluorescence enhancement in response to specific targets. While numerous examples of fluorescence-based PeT have been frequently reported, there is not even a single example of a PeT probe that operates via a chemiluminescence mode. Here we report the first PeT-based turn-on probe that acts via a chemiluminescent operation mode.
