Secreted Frizzled-related protein 1 (SFRP1) encodes a member of a protein family that contains a cysteine-rich domain similar to the WNT-binding site of Frizzled receptors and regulates the WNT pathway. The WNT pathway is frequently altered in human cancers. We have defined the pattern of SFRP1 mRNA expression in the progression of breast cancer. We show that SFRP1 is expressed in the epithelial component of normal breast, in the in situ component of ductal carcinomas and is lost in more than 80% of invasive breast carcinomas except the medullary type. Loss of SFRP1 expression is correlated with the presence of hormonal receptors. Conversely, the maintenance of SFRP1 in carcinomas is correlated with the presence of lymphoplasmocytic stroma. No significant association was observed between SFRP1 status and the level of apoptosis in tumoral cells.

Background: Rex rabbit is famous for its silky and soft fur coat, a characteristic predominantly attributed to its hair follicles. Numerous studies have confirmed the crucial roles of mRNAs and non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) in regulating key cellular processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and immunity. However, their involvement in the regulation of the hair cycle in Rex rabbits remains unknown.

Introduction: Resistance to lenvatinib limits the effectiveness of the targeted treatments for HCC. However, the exact mechanism behind this resistance remains elusive. Current research suggests that circular RNA (circRNA) is pivotal in mediating drug resistance during targeted treatments.

Department of Chemoradiotherapy, Ningbo No 2 Hospital, 315000 Ningbo, Zhejiang, China.

Background: Breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) are instrumental in treatment resistance, recurrence, and metastasis. The development of breast cancer and radiation sensitivity is intimately pertinent to long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). This work is formulated to investigate how the lncRNA affects the stemness and radioresistance of BCSCs.

() has caused huge economic losses to the cattle industry. The interaction between and host cells is elucidated by screening and identifying the target protein of adhesin on the surface of the host cell membrane. However, the response mechanism of embryonic bovine lung (EBL) cells to infection is not yet fully understood.

Disrupted neonatal lung alveologenesis often leads to bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), the most common chronic lung disease in children. The inhibition of type 2 alveolar (AT2) cell proliferation plays an important role in the arrest of alveologenesis. However, the mechanism of AT2 cell proliferation retardation in BPD is still not fully elucidated.
