The authors summarise their reconstructive surgical experience after the radical excision of hypopharyngeal tumours. In selective cases the preservation of the larynx is a reliable surgical option and supraglottic surgery is sufficient to remove the tumour. Myocutaneous paddle flaps were used in every case after the surgical resection for the reconstruction of the pharyngo-oesophageal entrance. After total circular pharyngo-laryngectomy, the continuity of the upper digestive tract was reconstructed by tubed myocutanous flaps.

Objectives: This study analyzed the differences in the upper airway of patients with skeletal Class III high-angle malocclusion with and without mandibular deviation, and further investigated whether there are differences in the changes in upper airway space after orthognathic surgery between the two groups.
Materials And Methods: 15 patients with skeletal Class III high-angle malocclusion and mandibular deviation, and 15 patients without mandibular deviation were selected to explore the impact of mandibular deviation on the upper airway. Additionally, 16 patients with mandibular deviation undergoing orthodontic-orthognathic combined treatment, and 13 patients without mandibular deviation, were selected to investigate the differences in the changes in upper airway space after orthognathic surgery between the two groups.

A hamartoma is a benign tumor of tissue resembling the site of origin, despite exhibiting disorganized architecture. While benign, symptoms typically arise from mass effects. They are often found in the lower gastrointestinal tract and are a rare finding in the pharynx and larynx.

Background: Diagnosing laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) is challenging due to overlapping symptoms. While proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are commonly prescribed, reliable predictors of their responsiveness are unclear. Reflux monitoring technologies like dual potential of hydrogen (pH) sensors and multichannel intraluminal impedance-pH (MII-pH) could improve diagnosis.

Objectives: To compare the variations in the upper airway of children with skeletal Class II mandibular retrognathism treated with van Beek Headgear-Activator (vBHGA) and Twin-Block (TB) appliances.
Materials And Methods: 40 children were involved in this retrospective study and divided into two intervention groups: the vBHGA group and the TB group, each comprising 20 individuals with an average age of 11.13 years.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of pedicled supraclavicular flaps in hypopharyngectomy reconstruction, with a focus on preserving laryngeal function.
Methods: From August 2019 to June 2022, 14 patients with primary hypopharyngeal carcinoma who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and underwent the repair of hypopharyngeal defects using pedicled supraclavicular flaps were included retrospectively. Relevant clinical evaluation indicators include patient characteristics, defect sizes, flap sizes, flap harvesting time, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative complications, recurrence, and survival outcomes.
