Introduction: Timely and accurate diagnosis is crucial for the effective treatment and prevention of brucellosis. Current serological diagnostics, primarily based on lipopolysaccharide (LPS), suffer from cross-reactivity with other Gram-negative bacteria, which limits their specificity. Periplasmic protein 26 (BP26), a highly immunogenic antigen found in , has emerged as a promising alternative for enhancing diagnostic specificity.

Objective: To establish a rapid detection method for canine using recombinase-aided amplification (RAA) technology.
Methods: The outer membrane protein 25 gene fragment (Omp25) of canis was targeted. Primers and fluorescent probes were designed and synthesized, and recombinant plasmids were constructed as standards.

Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is a widely used and effective tool for detection of anti-Brucella antibodies in serum, easy to perform with high sensitivity and specificity. In this study, we validated an in-house indirect ELISA using B. melitensis whole cell lysate as antigen (Bm-WCL iELISA) for the serodiagnosis of caprine brucellosis and evaluated the use of BSL-2 B.

Background: Point of need diagnostics provide efficient testing capability for remote or austere locations, decreasing the time to answer by minimizing travel or sample transport requirements. Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is an appealing technology for point-of-need diagnostics due to its rapid analysis time and minimal instrumentation requirements.
Methods: Here, we designed and optimized nine LAMP assays that are sensitive and specific to targeted bacterial select agents including Bacillus anthracis, Francisella tularensis, Yersinia pestis, and Brucella spp.
