The redox signaling network in mammals has garnered enormous interest and taken on major biological significance in recent years as the scope of NADPH oxidases (NOXs) as regulators of physiological signaling and cellular degeneration has grown exponentially. All NOX subtypes have in common the capacity to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) superoxide anion (O) and/or hydrogen peroxide (HO). A baseline, normal level of ROS formation supports a wide range of processes under physiological conditions.

Glutathione S-transferase (GST) plays a critical role in detoxifying various chemical compounds and is essential for host adaptation and pesticide resistance in insects. To understand the genetic structure of the GST family and the expression patterns among three haplotypes of Aphis gossypii, we conducted studies using genome annotation files and RNA-seq data. We identified 11 GSTs in A.

Rab proteins are a key family of small GTPases that play crucial roles in vesicular trafficking, membrane dynamics, and maintaining cellular homeostasis. Studying this family of proteins is interesting as having many structural isoforms with variable evolutionary trends and wide distribution in cells. The proteins are renowned for their unique structural characteristics, which support their functional adaptability and specificity.

Introduction: The enteric nervous system (ENS) in the wall of the gastrointestinal tract is complex and comprises many neurons, which are differentiated in terms of structure, function and neurochemistry. Neuregulin 1 (NRG 1) is one of the neuronal factors synthesised in the ENS about the distribution and functions of which relatively little is known. The present study is the first description of the distribution of NRG 1 in the ENS in various segments of the porcine small intestine.

: Alzheimer's dementia is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects memory abilities due to genetic and environmental factors. A well-known gene that influences the risk of Alzheimer's disease is the apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene. The APOE gene is involved in the production of a protein that helps transport cholesterol and other types of fat in the bloodstream.
