Background: Erythrodermic psoriasis (EP) is a severe and rare condition characterized by prominent erythema and scaling over 75 % of the body surface area. Unlike psoriasis vulgaris (PV), EP carries high risk of systemic involvement, including superficial skin infections and sepsis, particularly those caused by Staphylococcus aureus.

To date, the complex picture of atopic dermatitis (AD) has not yet been fully clarified, despite the important prevalence of this disease in the pediatric population (20%) and the possibility of persistence into adulthood, with important implications for the quality of life of those affected, as well as significant social and financial costs. The most recent scientific evidence suggests a new interpretation of AD, highlighting the important role of the environment, particularly that of nutrition in the early stages of development. In fact, the new indications seem to point out the harmful effect of elimination diets, except in rare cases, the uselessness of chrono-insertions during complementary feeding and some benefits, albeit weak, of breastfeeding in those at greater risk.

The study of reactions to SARS-CoV-2 vaccines has marked a large part of the literature in the last two years, using the basophil activation test (BAT) as a potential diagnostic tool for reactions to Covid-19 vaccines. In allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, lirentelimab (a humanised monoclonal antibody against lectin 8), reduces patients' symptoms and atopic comorbidities. In severe asthma, tezepelumab (human monoclonal antibody) reduces the annual asthma exacerbation rate over 52 weeks.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that can have tremendous impact on quality of life for affected children and adults. First-line therapy for acute management of AD includes topical therapies such as corticosteroids, calcineurin inhibitors, and, more recently, the phosphodiesterase inhibitor crisaborole. Topical agents have remained the mainstay therapy for decades; however, there has been a longstanding need for topical therapies with high efficacy and low risk of adverse effects with long-term use.
