Purpose: To describe pupil block glaucoma in phakic and pseudophakic patients after vitrectomy with silicone oil injection.
Design: Interventional case series.
Methods: Cases were collected from January 1997 to July 2000 from three tertiary referral centers.
Results: Seven phakic patients (seven eyes) and one pseudophakic patient (one eye) presented 1 to 90 days after vitrectomy and silicone oil injection with intraocular pressures of 36 to 70 mm Hg. Five patients had an observed or potential weakness of the iris-lens diaphragm. Treatment with Nd:YAG-laser peripheral iridotomy or inferior iridectomy provided a temporary reduction in intraocular pressure for some patients, but all eventually required removal of silicone oil.
Conclusion: Pupil block glaucoma after silicone oil injection is well recognized in aphakic patients, but ophthalmologists should be aware that it can occur in phakic and pseudophakic patients, particularly in complicated cases and patients with a weakness of the iris-lens diaphragm.

Purpose: Current treatments for retinoblastoma facilitate globe salvage but can result in vitreoretinal disorders that may require surgery. There is controversy on surgical approaches in eyes with retinoblastoma. Here we describe a transcorneal vitrectomy approach that avoids the use of chemotherapy or cryotherapy.

Background: Intracanal medicament (ICM) eliminates remaining bacteria and their toxins that were not removed by chemomechanical preparation during endodontic treatment.
Aim: The aim of this study was to compare and evaluate the removal of ozonated oil-based, silicone oil-based, and distilled water-based ICM with two calcium chelators, i.e.

Surface wettability, the interaction between a liquid droplet and the surface it contacts, plays a key role in influencing droplet behavior and flow dynamics. There is a growing interest in designing surfaces with tailored wetting properties across diverse applications. Advanced fabrication techniques that create surfaces with unique wettability offer significant innovation potential.

Purpose: This study aims to examine the correlation between specific clinical parameters, such as axial eye length, and the onset of ocular hypertension "OH" following the use of silicone oil filling in patients with high myopia.
Method: In this retrospective analysis, we reviewed 214 eyes from 432 patients diagnosed with severe myopia, all of whom underwent vitrectomy and were treated with silicone oil filling. The study aimed to document the incidence and timing of postoperative ocular hypertension "OH" while assessing various factors, including demographic details, medical history, additional surgical interventions, and findings from supplementary examinations (such as axial length, silicone oil emulsification, and anterior chamber penetration).
