Possibilities of ultrasonic investigation (USI) in diagnosis of "high" forms of an acute paraproctitis, ischiorectal and pelviorectal one, were studied. Of 20 patients examined, in 14 the diagnosis difficulties were noted, for correction of which the USI method was applied. The presence of purulent formations in pararectal cellular tissue was confirmed, their localization and spread were determined, permitting to substantiate the rational method of surgical intervention choice.

Edible coating (EC) can reduce excessive oil absorption in deep-fat fried food products. Ultrasound is an efficient pretreatment to preserve the quality characteristics of fried samples. The impact of guar gum based EC and sonication on the quality parameters of fried zucchini slices was investigated.

This study investigates the potential of ionic liquids (ILs) as sustainable solvents in ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) to efficiently recover luteolin from peanut shells. Among the range of ILs tested, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate stood out as the most effective solvent, achieving the highest extraction yield. Single-factor experiments were conducted to analyze the effects of ultrasonic power, extraction time, extraction temperature, IL concentration, and solid-to-liquid ratio on extraction efficiency.

The self-assembly of rice glutelin (RG) into RG fibrils (RGFs) represents a promising strategy for enhancing its functional properties. In this study, we investigated the effects of ultrasonic pretreatment on the fibrillation kinetics, structural characteristics, and functional properties of RGFs. The results indicated that ultrasonic pretreatment facilitated the unfolding of RG, resulting in an increased H and β-sheet, thereby accelerating the formation of RGFs and enhancing the fibril conversion rate.

This study determined the anthocyanin and phenolic profile of Syzygium cumini bioactive compounds, including anthocyanins and other flavonoids, alongside diverse phenolic compounds. The study optimized a green extraction technique (ultrasound-assisted enzymatic extraction (UAEE)) to obtain anthocyanin-rich extract from the fruit pulp of S. cumini using the pectinase enzyme.
