The autonomic innervation of the nasal mucosa has been studied in normal rats and in rats in which the supplying nerves had seen selectively transected; postoperative survival times varied from 2 weeks up to 18 months. The vascular structures appeared to be innervated both by acetylcholinesterase- and noradrenalin-containing fibres. Furthermore a nerve plexus consisting of both types of fibres was observed in the subepithelial region. The nasal glands however showed only a cholinergic innervation. The pattern of the autonomic nerve supply deduced from these selective denervation experiments does not differ fundamentally from the generally accepted scheme of this system in the nose of other mammals. Denervation occurred within 2 weeks after transection of the supplying nerves, but after longer survival times reinnervation was observed.

Background: Previous studies have suggested that neuromuscular junction (NMJ) denervation plays a critical role in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Repetitive nerve stimulation (RNS) has been used as a technique to test neuromuscular transmission, but the sensitivity and stability of its parameters have not been investigated in patients with ALS. In addition, the impact of impaired homeostasis on NMJ stability in patients with ALS remains unclear.

Objectives: In this study, the spread of methylene blue was compared between an ultrasound-guided Pericapsular Nerve Group (PENG) block and a double injection technique, where the approach towards the inferomedial acetabulum was added to the latter.
Methods: The two techniques were performed in 11 fresh frozen cadavers. The spread was measured after anatomical dissection in which the supplying femoral and obturator nerves were identified.

Objective: To study the effect of transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block under direct vision with acupoint injection on the rapid recovery of patients after laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
Methods: Ninety-three patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy at Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to December 2023 were selected and divided into control, TAP block under direct vision (TAP-DV), and TAP-DV with acupoint injection (TAP-DVA) groups using a random number table method. Postoperative VAS, Ramsay score, IL-6, CRP, and postoperative rehabilitation indices were compared among the three groups.

Introduction: Alleviating postoperative pain from developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) surgery is beneficial for paediatric patients. The most commonly used anaesthetic approach currently is general anaesthesia combined with regional nerve blocks. Existing research primarily focuses on studies comparing regional nerve blocks with placebo controls, or studies comparing two different regional nerve blocking techniques.

Renal denervation is an emerging strategy for the management of uncontrolled hypertension. However, real-world experience is still modest, in particular for the management of complex anatomy, with available data being limited to the selected population of randomized clinical trials. We first describe the feasibility of delivering the renal denervation system to the target site with a child-in-mother technique, using a common coronary guiding extension, in a patient with severe tortuosity and double renal arteries.
