Measurements of the specific heat of Mg11B2 from 1 to 50 K, in magnetic fields to 9 T, give the Debye temperature, Theta = 1050 K, the coefficient of the normal-state electron contribution, gamma(n) = 2.6 mJ mol(-1) K-2, and a discontinuity in the zero-field specific heat of 133 mJ mol(-1) K-1 at T(c) = 38.7 K. The estimated value of the electron-phonon coupling parameter, lambda = 0.62, could account for the observed T(c) only if the important phonon frequencies are unusually high relative to Theta. At low T, there is a strongly field-dependent feature that suggests the existence of a second energy gap, about 4 times smaller than the major gap.

Background: The aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index (APRI) is an effective non-invasive marker for chronic liver dysfunction. Given that heat stroke patients often suffer from poor prognosis due to multi-organ involvement, with liver injury and coagulation dysfunction being of particular concern, this study aims to investigate whether APRI can comprehensively reflect liver injury and coagulation dysfunction in heat stroke patients and explore its relationship with 28-day mortality.
Methods: This retrospective study analysed electronic medical records from patients treated at 57 grade A tertiary hospitals in China from May 2005 to May 2024.

The CDKL (cyclin-dependent kinase-like) family consists of five members in humans, CDKL1-5, that encode serine-threonine kinases. The only member that has been associated with a Mendelian disorder is CDKL5, and variants in CDKL5 cause developmental and epileptic encephalopathy type 2 (DEE2). Here, we study four de novo variants in CDKL2 identified in five individuals, including three unrelated probands and monozygotic twins.
