Uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC) is a significant cause of cancer-related mortality among women worldwide. Prior research has demonstrated an association between cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2 A (CDKN2A) and various tumors. As a member of the INK4 family, CDKN2A is involved in cell cycle regulation by controlling CDKs.

Background/aim: The disruption of cell-cycle control can lead to an imbalance in cell proliferation, often accompanied by genomic instability, which in turn can facilitate carcinogenesis. This study aimed to examine the impact of CDKN1A rs1801270 and rs1059234 polymorphisms on the risk of childhood acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) in Taiwan.
Materials And Methods: The genotypes of CDKN1A rs1801270 and rs1059234 in 266 childhood ALL cases and 266 controls were determined using PCR-RFLP techniques.

Cuproptosis is crucial in the development of various liver diseases, yet its involvement in alcoholic liver disease (ALD) remains poorly understood. In this study, we screened cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs) regulating ALD and explored their potential molecular mechanisms. Bioinformatic methods were employed to screen CRGs in ALD, analyze their functional enrichment, signaling pathways, transcriptional regulation, relationship with the immune microenvironment and pathogenic genes, and corresponding single nucleotide polymorphism pathogenic regions, and construct transcription factor-miRNA-mRNA networks.

Although genome-wide association studies have identified dozens of loci associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) susceptibility, the causal genes or risk variants within these loci and their biological functions often remain elusive. Recently, the genomic locus 12p13.32, with the tag single-nucleotide polymorphism rs10774214, was identified as a crucial CRC risk locus in Asian populations.
