Atypical phenotypes of CADASIL and corresponding anatomical data in two cases are described in 6 members of 2 new French families. In the first family, 4 cases in the same kindred were probably affected, two of them with a predominant psychiatric presentation, two others with dementia and a pseudo-bulbar syndrome of progressive evolution. No history of migraine or ischemic event were documented in any. In the propositus, the diagnosis was documented by skin biopsy, Notch 3 gene mutation and autopsy after the patient had died when 67 years old, 8 years after onset. Brain examination showed a widespread leukoencephalopathy with subcortical infarcts. Characteristic granular lesions of the small arteries of the brain and other organs were observed. In the second family, two cases are reported. One patient died when 63 years old after a subacute evolution mimicking intracranial hypertension. The anatomical diagnosis was retrospectively proven typical of CADASIL with Notch 3 immunostaining of arterial smooth muscle cells. The other case had a progressive evolution over 20 years of limb paresthesia with a mild spasticity diagnosed as a progressive form of multiple sclerosis. It was followed by a pseudo-bulbar syndrome and a mild subcortical dementia without acute ischemic attack. The diagnosis was confirmed by skin biopsy and mutation of the Notch 3 gene. This report illustrates

Introduction: Self-harm represents a complex and multifaceted public health issue of global significance, exerting profound effects on individuals and communities alike. It involves intentional self-poisoning or self-injury with or without the motivation to die. Although self-harm is highly prevalent, limited research has focused on the patterns and trends of self-harm among hospital populations in low- and middle-income countries, particularly within Africa.

The purpose of this review was to examine the effects of hip muscle botulinum toxin injections for the treatment of hip instability reported in studies of children with cerebral palsy. Searches in PubMed, CINAHL, and Web of Science were performed using the term hips combined with botulinum toxin and its various abbreviations and brand names. Reference lists and citations of the reviewed studies were also searched.

Background: Epilepsy, a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, presents considerable difficulties in treatment, particularly when dealing with drug-resistant cases. Dapsone, recognized for its anti-inflammatory properties, holds promise as a potential therapeutic option. However, its effectiveness in epilepsy requires further investigation.

Herpesviruses, a family of large enveloped DNA viruses, establish persistent infections in a wide range of hosts. This characteristic requires an intricate network of interactions with their hosts and host cells. In recent years, the interplay between herpesviruses and the epitranscriptome-chemical modifications in transcripts that may affect mRNA biology and fate-has emerged as a novel aspect of herpesvirus-host interactions.

The term verruciform acanthotic vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (vaVIN) was coined to describe HPV-independent p53-wildtype lesions with characteristic clinicopathologic characteristics and association with vulvar squamous cell carcinoma (vSCC). We aimed to expand on the molecular landscape of vaVIN using comprehensive sequencing and copy number variation profiling. vaVIN diagnosis in institutional cases was confirmed by a second review, plus negative p16 and wildtype p53 by immunohistochemistry.
