Published: April 2001

Using a straight-from-the-bottle into-the-instrument technique, a series of direct susceptibility tests were performed with the BACTEC 9240 and Microscan Walkaway systems. Although rapid, unacceptably high error rates were obtained when compared with a standardized method. This procedure is not sufficiently accurate for clinical use.

Discovery of a common light chain bispecific antibody targeting PD-1 and PD-L1 by Hybridoma-to-Phage-to-Yeast (H2PtY) platform.

Biologics Innovation Institute, Shanghai Jemincare Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Lane 535, Huanqiao Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai 201315, China.

Background: Therapeutic antibody drugs targeting the PD-1 pathway are generally characterized by relatively low response rates and susceptibility to drug resistance during clinical application. Therefore, there is an urgent need for alternative therapeutic strategies to increase the immune response rate. Bispecific antibodies co-targeting PD-1 and PD-L1 may have greater potential to improve the efficacy of the immune checkpoint pathway.

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is widely used across various industries owing to its versatility and favorable properties, including application in beverage bottles, food containers, textile fibers, engineering resins, films, and sheets. However, polymer materials are susceptible to degradation from factors such as light, oxygen, and heat. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the structural changes that occur during degradation and the extent of these changes.

The Efficacy of 3 Bleaching Methods on Stained Polymer-Based CAD/CAM Materials.

Int Dent J

January 2025

Biomaterials Science, Division of Dentistry, School of Medical Sciences, University of Manchester, Manchester, UK.

Introduction And Aims: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of 3 bleaching methods on stained polymer-based CAD/CAM blocks in terms of surface roughness, hardness stability, discolouration reduction and susceptibility to re-staining following bleaching.

Methods: Two-mm-thick slabs (N = 128) were prepared from CeraSmart (CS), Grandio Blocs (GB), Vita Enamic (VE), and direct resin composite GrandioSO (RC). Coffee-stained specimens (n = 8) were subdivided into bleaching (BL) groups: in-office bleaching (OB), home bleaching (HB), whitening mouthwash (MW), and a control group with 14-day storage in water (CL).

Background: Pregnancy and childbirth are accompanied by widespread maternal physiological adaptations and hormonal shifts, that have been suggested to result in a period of vulnerability for the development of mood disorders such as postpartum depression (PPD). There is also evidence of peripartum changes in the composition of the gut microbiota, but the potential contribution of intestinal microbes to the adaptations, or subsequent vulnerabilities, during this period are unknown.

Summary: Here we outline key pathways involved in peripartum adaptations including GABAergic signaling, oxytocin and immunomodulation that are also associated with susceptibility to mood disorders and present evidence that these pathways are modulated by gut microbes.
