Background: Large, international cohort studies generate high-level evidence, but are resource intense. In end-of-life care such studies are scarce. Hence, planning for future studies in terms of data on screening, recruitment, retention and survival remains a challenge.

The posterior parietal cortex (PPC) is an associative neocortical region that integrates multiple streams of information and is implicated in spatial cognition and decision making. In some cases, however, the PPC is not required for these functions. One possibility is that the PPC is recruited when spatial complexity is high.

Background: The 18F-AV-1451 radioligand enables in-vivo identification of tau neurofibrillary tangles that are considered as biomarkers of neurodegeneration in Alzheimer Disease (AD). However, off-target radioligand binding is also observed in basal ganglia, known as an iron-rich region. Hence, it is important to distinguish between radioligand-identified tissue neurodegeneration and iron-related radioligand binding effects.

Background: The burden of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias is growing fast in Africa. The Recruitment and Retention for Alzheimer's Disease Diversity Genetic Cohorts in the Alzheimer's Disease Sequencing Project (READD-ADSP) has commenced recruitment of 5000 African participants (AD and cognitively unimpaired individuals) to generate genomic and biomarker data to better characterize AD genetic architecture in Africa. Participating countries, part of the African Dementia Consortium (AfDC) include Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Cameroon, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Mozambique.

Background: To be successful, recruitment registries must retain participants until they can be recruited to studies. Yet, strategies and tactics to improve retention in online recruitment registries remain understudied. This study seeks to quantify the preferences of registry participants' when it comes to video message content aimed at increasing registry renewal.
