Introduction: Body composition is studied in athletes as a means of measuring physical fitness and progression of training. Athletes can utilize body composition in multiple ways to guide training toward athlete specific goals. Several different methods exist with varying levels of cost, invasiveness, reading complexity, and availability.

Disease-modifying therapies for Alzheimer's disease (AD) are likely to be most beneficial when initiated in the presymptomatic phase. To track the benefit of such interventions, fluid biomarkers are of great importance, with neurofilament light chain protein (NfL) showing promise for monitoring neurodegeneration and predicting cognitive outcomes. Here, we update and complement previous findings from the Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer Network Observational Study by using matched cross-sectional and longitudinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma samples from 567 individuals, allowing timely comparative analyses of CSF and blood trajectories across the entire disease spectrum.

Background: Bedside ultrasonography, also known as point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS), is a promising technological tool that enhances clinical assessment, enriching diagnostic capabilities and clinical reasoning. Its use in nursing spans various patient populations and health care settings, providing nurses with a valuable health assessment tool to improve care quality and patient safety. Despite its growing integration into clinical practice, PoCUS training has mainly focused on physicians, leaving a gap for trained nurses who demonstrate similar proficiency in conducting scans and interpreting images.

Background: Brain ageing is highly heterogeneous, as it is driven by a variety of normal and neuropathological processes. These processes may differentially affect structural and functional brain ageing across individuals, with more pronounced ageing (older brain age) during midlife being indicative of later development of dementia. Here, we examined whether brain-ageing heterogeneity in unimpaired older adults related to neurodegeneration, different cognitive trajectories, genetic and amyloid-beta (Aβ) profiles, and to predicted progression to Alzheimer's disease (AD).
