Pulmonary involvement in Waldenström's macroglobulinaemia (WM) occurs in 3-5% of cases, but lung involvement without bone marrow infiltration is extremely rare. We report 2 patients who presented with bilateral consolidations on chest X-ray and non-specific symptoms and were treated for a long period of time for pulmonary infections until the diagnosis was made by open lung biopsy. Both patients presented high monoclonal IgM in the serum and one also had blood lymphoplasmacytosis. Trephine bone biopsy and bone marrow smears were normal and there was no other site of involvement. Along with the presentation of our patients, we review the literature, discuss some of the possible underlying mechanisms and raise the attention of clinicians to this rare manifestation of the disease.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common primary bone cancer in children and young adults. This type of cancer is characterized by a high mortality rate, especially for patients with resistant lung metastases. Given its low incidence, high genetic heterogeneity, the lack of effective targets, and poor availability of relevant in vitro and in vivo models to study the tumor progression and the metastatic cascade, the pathophysiology of OS is still poorly understood and the translation of novel drugs into the market has become stagnant.

Introduction: Cancer is a widespread epidemic that affects millions of individuals across the world. Identifying novel cancer targets is crucial to developing more effective cancer treatments. Platelet-derived growth factor-B (PDGFB) plays a critical role in various tumor processes, including angiogenesis and lymphatic metastasis.

Sarcoidosis is a multisystem granulomatous disease of unknown etiology, characterized by noncaseating epithelioid granuloma, multinucleate giant cells, and tissue destruction. While lung and lymph node involvement is common, isolated renal involvement is rare. We report the case of a 55-year-old female patient, with renal limited sarcoidosis, who presented with worsening sensorium and acute kidney injury.

Background: Programmed cell death 1/programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1)-based immune checkpoint blockade is an effective treatment approach for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, immunohistochemistry does not accurately or dynamically reflect PD-L1 expression owing to its spatiotemporal heterogeneity. Herein, we assessed the feasibility of using a Ga-labeled anti-PD-L1 nanobody, Ga-NODAGA-NM-01, for PET imaging of PD-L1.

Background: Some surgeons routinely divide the inferior pulmonary ligament (IPL) during upper lobectomy. Nevertheless, the evidence remains inconclusive regarding whether dividing the IPL improves the postoperative pulmonary. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the effects of inferior pulmonary ligament division (IPLD) during upper lobectomy.
