A case of thoracopagus conjoined stillborn twins studied with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is presented. Due to the parents' denial of authorization for an autopsy of the fetuses, the MRI study was performed as an alternative to necropsy. High-resolution images of the fetuses demonstrated relevant anatomic features, providing noninvasive pathological insight with preservation of the fetal specimen. J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2001;13:976-981.

Background: Loneliness, distress from having fewer social contacts than desired, has been recognized as a significant public health crisis. Although a substantial body of research has established connections between loneliness and various forms of psychopathology, our understanding of the neural underpinnings of loneliness in schizophrenia spectrum disorders (SSD) and major depressive disorder (MDD) remains limited.
Methods: In this study, structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) data were collected from 57 SSD and 45 MDD patients as well as 41 healthy controls (HC).
Purpose: Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcomas (UPSs) demonstrate therapy-induced hemosiderin deposition, granulation tissue formation, fibrosis, and calcification. We aimed to determine the treatment-assessment value of morphologic tumoral hemorrhage patterns and first- and high-order radiomic features extracted from contrast-enhanced susceptibility-weighted imaging (CE-SWI).
Materials And Methods: This retrospective institutional review board-authorized study included 33 patients with extremity UPS with magnetic resonance imaging and resection performed from February 2021 to May 2023.

Acrolein (ACR) present in vivo and in vitro can damage proteins and DNA, linking it to various chronic diseases. In this paper, ergothioneine (EGT), abundant in edible mushrooms, has been studied for its ability to trap ACR and its reaction pathway with ACR at high temperatures using ultraperformance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). We synthesized the adducts (EGT-ACR-1 and EGT-ACR-2), elucidating their structure and reaction site through HRMS and nuclear magnetic resonance.

In Alzheimer's disease (AD), amyloid-β (Aβ) triggers the aggregation and spreading of tau pathology, which drives neurodegeneration and cognitive decline. However, the pathophysiological link between Aβ and tau remains unclear, which hinders therapeutic efforts to attenuate Aβ-related tau accumulation. Aβ has been found to trigger neuronal hyperactivity and hyperconnectivity, and preclinical research has shown that tau spreads across connected neurons in an activity-dependent manner.

Advanced cardiac imaging modalities have revolutionized the field of cardiovascular medicine, offering invaluable tools for both diagnosis and the management of a wide spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. These imaging methods, including echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography (CT), computed tomography angiography (CTA), cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear imaging, and fluoroscopy, offer various approaches to evaluate both the structure and function of the heart. This article provides an overview of imaging modalities for primary care physicians, highlighting their types, advantages, limitations and clinical uses.
