Background: Balloon-assisted bioprosthetic or native aortic scallop intentional laceration to prevent iatrogenic coronary artery obstruction (BA-BASILICA) enables valve-in-valve transcatheter aortic valve implantation (ViV-TAVI) in patients at risk of coronary artery obstruction. However, its efficacy in patients with severely calcified leaflets remains unclear.
Case Summary: We report a 78-year-old woman with a deteriorated 21 mm Carpentier-Edwards PERIMOUNT Magna valve.

Transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) has emerged as a promising intervention for the treatment of severe tricuspid regurgitation with complex valve morphology. This consensus document provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of orthotopic TTVR, focusing on patient selection, procedural details, and follow-up care. Clinical outcomes from initial studies and compassionate use cases are discussed, highlighting the effectiveness of TTVR in reducing tricuspid regurgitation, inducing reverse right ventricular remodeling, and enhancing patients' quality of life.

In October 2018, the United Network for Organ Sharing changed their heart allocation criteria to prioritize patients on temporary mechanical circulatory support. This study assesses outcomes of patients bridged to orthotopic heart transplantation (OHT) with venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA ECMO) since this change. We conducted a retrospective single-center study of adults (≥18 years) supported with VA ECMO at the time of OHT (October 1, 2018, to December 31, 2021).

Objectives: We conducted this case series to evaluate the feasibility and mid-term outcomes of orthotopic aortic arch reconstruction using xenopericardial grafts to treat native aortic arch/arch graft infection.
Methods: Between 2010 and 2023, adopting a multidisciplinary approach, we treated consecutive patients with aortic arch/arch graft infection by orthotopic branched xenopericardial roll graft replacement and tissue filling. The end points of the study were the graft reinfection and graft-related complications such as pseudoaneurysm formation, thromboembolism, graft stenosis, graft calcification and death.

Introduction: The mobilization and ambulation of patients with severe cardiogenic shock supported with peripheral veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (pVA-ECMO) and concomitant femoral intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) support is not well-described. This technical paper describes an ambulation protocol to prevent deconditioning in this critically ill patient population.
Methods: A protocol for the ambulation of patients with pVA-ECMO and concomitant IABP support was created in December 2022 and implemented at a single center.
