When Proposition 99 tobacco control program funding to state health departments was reduced in 1993, Contra Costa County developed a strategy to institutionalize its tobacco control programs in other organizations. This effort identified seven funding priorities and three stable, experienced community organizations "adopted" these priorities.

Background: Development of novel chiral antifungal agents for effective control of plant pathogens is urgently needed. In this study, a series of pyrazol-5-yl-benzamide derivatives containing chiral oxazoline moiety were rationally designed and developed based on molecular docking.
Results: The in vitro antifungal assay results indicated that compounds (rac)-4h (R = Et), (S)-4 h (R = S-Et) and (R)-4 h (R = R-Et) exhibited remarkable antifungal activities against Valsa mali with median effective concentration (EC) values of 0.

Aquaporins are widely present in the plant kingdom and play important roles in plant response to abiotic adversity stresses such as water and temperature extremes. In this study, we investigated the regulatory role of NTPIP2;4 on drought tolerance in tobacco at physiological and transcriptional levels. In this experiment, we constructed an NtPIP2;4 overexpression vector and genetically transformed tobacco variety 'K326' to investigate the mechanism of NtPIP2;4 gene in regulating drought tolerance in tobacco at physiological and transcriptomic levels.

Introduction: Although numerous studies have estimated the inhalation dose of metals emitted from electronic cigarettes (e-cigs), the impact of factors including aerosol size and the atomising power of e-cig aerosols on estimating the inhalation dose of metals remains underexplored. A comprehensive understanding of these determinants is essential to assess the health risks associated with inhaling e-cig aerosols, which may contain potentially harmful metals.
Objectives: The aim of this study is to elucidate the mass and inhalation doses of potentially harmful metals in e-cig aerosols by different particle size and their association with the various atomising powers of e-cig devices and flavours.

Objective: The hypothesis tested was the negative impact of electronic smoke exposure on the developing of respiratory infection, specifically in the upper tract. In this study, we aimed to investigate if smoke exposure increased the number of tonsillectomy surgery in children compared to the hernia repair control group.
Methods: The design of our study was retrospective case-control.

The global epidemiology of HCC is shifting due to changes in both established and emerging risk factors. This transformation is marked by an emerging prevalence of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and type 2 diabetes, alongside traditional risks such as viral hepatitis (HBV and HCV), and exposure to chemical agents like aflatoxin, alcohol, tobacco, and air pollution. This review examines how environmental exposures and evolving liver pathology, exacerbated by lifestyle and metabolic conditions, are contributing to the rising worldwide incidence of HCC.
