Observation of two-dimensional time-reversal broken non-Abelian topological states.

Nat Commun

November 2024

State Key Laboratory of Extreme Photonics and Instrumentation, ZJU-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.

Going beyond the conventional theory, non-Abelian band topology reveals the global quantum geometry of multiple Bloch bands and unveils a new paradigm for topological physics. However, to date, experimental studies on non-Abelian topological states beyond one dimension are still restricted to systems with time-reversal ( ) symmetry. Here, exploiting a designer gyromagnetic photonic crystal, we find rich -broken non-Abelian topological phases and their transitions with an unexpected connection to multigap antichiral edge states.

Droplet manipulation technologies with surface acoustic waves attract significant attention for applications in fluid handling and bioanalysis. However, existing technologies face challenges in automation, precision, and functional integration, limiting broader applications. In this work, a highly integrated droplet-sensing acoustofluidic tweezer is developed, incorporating orthogonally arranged slanted finger interdigital transducers and a custom-designed control and detection circuit system.

Robot-assisted technique can achieve accurate screw placement in four-corner fusion and reduce operative difficulty: a cadaver study.

J Orthop Surg Res

November 2024

Department of Hand Surgery, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Capital Medical University, No.31, Xin Jie Kou East Street, Xi Cheng District, Beijing, 100035, China.

Background: The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility and accuracy of a robot-assisted technique in four-corner fusion compared with traditional freehand operation.

Methods: Twenty cadaver specimens were randomly assigned to the robot-assisted group and freehand groups. Three screws were placed percutaneously to fix the capitate-lunate joint, lunate-triquetrum joint, and triquetrum-hamate-capitate joint in each specimen by robot-assisted or freehand technique.

The single-input-single-output technology experiences loss of data in the communication channel due to the receiving antenna undergoing fading of the signal impinged on it. Today's need is faster data transfer with multiple applications in the single antenna with multiple-identical radiating elements, leading to multiple-input-multiple-outputDWMB (MIMODWMB) technology. The MIMODWMB configuration with multi-band capability is the objective of the proposed work with applications ranging between microwave-millimeterWave bands.

. Endovascular brain-computer interfaces (eBCIs) offer a minimally invasive way to connect the brain to external devices, merging neuroscience, engineering, and medical technology. Currently, solutions for endovascular electrocorticography (ECoG) include a stent in the brain with sensing electrodes, a chest implant to accommodate electronic components to provide power and data telemetry, and a long (tens of centimeters) cable travel through vessels with a set of wires in between.
