Placental site trophoblastic tumor (PSTT) is very rare. It is an unusual variant of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia usually confined to the uterus, although 10% of patients have metastases. The clinical behaviour of PSTT varies and despite knowledge of its histology, diagnosis of this rare form of trophoblastic disease and prediction of its biological behaviour remains difficult due to only a few cases reported in literature.

Introduction/purpose: It is well-documented in the literature that the placenta migrates during pregnancy; however, studies regarding placental cord insertion (PCI) migration are scarce. This longitudinal, prospective study aimed to determine whether PCI migration is a true phenomenon, to assess whether the PCI can change classification during pregnancy and to determine the validity of PCI site documentation including follow-up of abnormal PCI.
Methods: Eighty-three participants who had first, second and third trimester ultrasound examinations at a Western Australian private imaging practice over a 12-month period between November 2021 and November 2022 were recruited.

Introduction: ICAM-1 is an adhesion molecule expressed on the endothelial cells and is involved in regulating leukocyte recruitment to the site of inflammation. Elevated ICAM-1 mRNA expression was found in the serum of mothers with chorioamnionitis. This study aimed to determine the expression of ICAM-1 in the placenta and umbilical cord of pregnancy with chorioamnionitis, and its association with adverse neonatal outcome.

This study explores the epigenetic mechanism of MLL1 regulating trophoblast ferroptosis in preeclampsia (PE). A murine model of PE was established, and HTR-8/SVneo cells were induced by Erastin to establish an in vitro cell model. GSH, MDA, Fe, and ROS levels were measured to assess ferroptosis.
