Absolute cross sections for the vibrational excitation of CO, CO2, and H2 by positron impact are presented for incident positron energies from 0.5 eV to several electron volts. The measurements use a novel technique that exploits the adiabatic motion of a positron beam in a strong magnetic field. This work is the first systematic experimental study of vibrational excitation by positron impact, and extends to energies where positron measurements have traditionally been difficult. The measured cross sections are compared with available theoretical calculations.

Background: The association between skeletal muscle and adipose tissue (body composition) and early response using positron emission tomography (PET) in pediatric Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) remains unstudied.
Methods: Patients enrolled on Children's Oncology Group studies AHOD0031 (intermediate-risk HL) and AHOD0831 (high-risk HL) with digital abdominal computed tomography (CT) scans at diagnosis and PET scans after 2 cycles (PET2) were included. Two consecutive slices at the third lumbar vertebra were identified and skeletal muscle index (SMI, in cm2/m2) and total adipose tissue index (TATI, in cm2/m2) were calculated using sliceOmatic (Magog, Canada) and height at diagnosis.

Purpose Of Review: This review aims to explore the clinical significance of atrial fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake observed in positron emission tomography (PET) scans, focusing on its association with atrial fibrillation (AF), cardiac sarcoidosis, and myocarditis. We discuss the implications of atrial uptake for patient management and prognosis.
Recent Findings: Recent studies have demonstrated that atrial FDG uptake is frequently present in patients with AF, particularly those with persistent AF, and is linked to increased risks of stroke and poorer outcomes after ablation.

For quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLED), electrical aging commonly introduces collective aging sources across all layers, making it difficult to isolate the impact of each layer on electroluminescence (EL) degradation. In this work, a layer-selective aging method using active photoexcitation is proposed, in which the photoexcitation wavelength is used to selectively target specific layers for exciton generation, and an electrical bias is applied to induce photocurrent and create charges. An iterative aging-sampling (A-S) procedure is used to link aging conditions to EL degradation.
