The overuse of antibiotics has led to the severe contamination of water bodies, posing a considerable hazard to human health. Therefore, the development of an accurate and rapid point-of-care testing (POCT) platform for the quantitative detection of antibiotics is necessary. In this study, Cerium oxide (CeO) and Ferrosoferric oxide (FeO) nanoparticles were simultaneously encapsulated into N-doped nanofibrous carbon microspheres to form of a novel nanozyme (CeFe-NCMzyme) with a porous structure, high surface area, and N-doped carbon material properties, leading to a considerable enhancement of the peroxidase (POD)-like activity compared with that of the CeO or FeO nanoparticles alone.

The colorimetric sensor for volatile amines (VA) detection can realize non-destructive monitoring of shrimp quality. However, its sensing performance still needs to be improved. In this study, we proposed an aerogel-type colorimetric sensor to improve VA sensing performance and realize early detection of shrimp spoilage.

College of Food Science and Technology, Bohai University, Food Safety Key Lab of Liaoning Province, National & Local Joint Engineering Research Center of Storage, Processing and Safety Control Technology for Fresh Agricultural and Aquatic Products, Jinzhou 121013, China.

A multifunctional near-infrared fluorescent probe (Sycy) is synthesized by the one-step condensation reaction of syringaldehyde and tricyanofuran. Sycy can detect HSO within 150 s in the red wine and sugar samples with a low detection limit of 3.5 μM.

Background: Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent regulatory cell death, which plays an essential role in bone loss. This study investigated whether the mechanism of risperidone (RIS)-induced bone loss is related to ferroptosis.

Methods: The schizophrenia mice were induced by administering MK-801.

Catechins in tea, as promoters of human health, have attracted widespread attention. Herein, a dual-signal mode (colorimetric and fluorescence) sensor array for catechin species fingerprinting was built based on PtNi bunched nanoparticle (PtNi-BNP)--phenylenediamine (OPD)-HO system. PtNi-BNPs catalyze the reaction between OPD and HO to produce oxidized OPD (oxOPD) with both colorimetric (yellow) and fluorescent properties.
