Primary hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma: a case report.

J Int Med Res

December 2024

Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Affiliated Hangzhou First People's Hospital, Westlake University, School of Medicine, Hangzhou, China.

Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma is a low-grade malignant tumor of vascular origin. The rarity of hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (HEHE) makes the diagnosis and treatment of this entity challenging. We report a case of a 69-year-old female patient who suffered from HEHE and complained of abdominal distension pain with dizziness and appetite loss for more than half a month.

Department of Endocrinology, Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, National Clinical Research Center for Child Health, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, 310052, China.

Background: Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is an inherited disorder mainly marked by increased low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) concentrations and a heightened risk of early-onset arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). This study seeks to characterize the genetic spectrum and genotype‒phenotype correlations of FH in Chinese pediatric individuals.

Methods: Data were gathered from individuals diagnosed with FH either clinically or genetically at multiple hospitals across mainland China from January 2016 to June 2024.

Background: Conventional right hepatectomy typically involves resection of the right hemiliver, often including partial removal of the caudate lobe. However, recent advancements, particularly in indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging, have allowed for more accurate identification of anatomical boundaries between liver segments. In this context, we present a refined technique for real anatomical right hepatectomy that preserves the caudate lobe, offering enhanced surgical precision and several distinct advantages over traditional methods.

Background: RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) regulators are essential for numerous biological processes and are implicated in various diseases. However, the comprehensive role of m6A regulators in the context of liver transplantation (LT) remains poorly understood. This study aimed to illustrate the relationship between m6A regulators and ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) following LT.
