Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a prevalent autoimmune disorder primarily targeting the diarthrodial joints. During the progression of RA, fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs) exhibit tumor-like behavior, including increased proliferation, inflammation mediation, and aggressive phenotypes, leading to bone erosion. Additionally, T cells in RA acquire pro-inflammatory characteristics, exacerbating the inflammatory environment in affected joints and associated tissues.

Although the sternoclavicular joint shares structural similarities with the knee and hip joints as a diarthrodial joint, its biomechanics differ significantly due to its non-weight-bearing nature. Nevertheless, it is subject to considerable loading, leading to increased susceptibility to osteoarthritis, a prevalent condition characterized by the degeneration of the joint's articular surfaces and fibrocartilaginous intra-articular disc. The osteoarthritic degeneration of the fibrocartilaginous and cartilaginous surfaces of the sternoclavicular joint has been investigated, considering multiple factors.

The sacroiliac joint (SIJ) is the largest diarthrodial joint in the human body and accounts for approximately 20% of all low back pain, which is commonly seen in patients with lumbosacral fusions. Despite this, SIJ dysfunction often poses a challenging diagnosis depending on clinical evaluation, imaging, and image-guided joint injection. SIJ fusion is an effective and safe method of treatment, with minimally invasive approaches fitting well within the armamentarium of interventional radiologists treating chronic pain and other musculoskeletal conditions.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease mainly affecting the peripheral diarthrodial joints symmetrically and also presenting many extra-articular manifestations. Morbidity and mortality in RA patients are higher compared to the general population. Cardiovascular (CV) disease is one of the most common causes of death in these patients.
