Forty-two patients with chronic generalized periodontitis were treated. Thirty-five patients presented with exacerbation of the disease of second-third degree of severity, clinically manifesting with hyperemia, edema of the gingival mucosa with pyorrhea from the gingivodental pouches, and mobility of teeth of the second-third degree; exacerbation of the process with abscesses round 1-2 teeth was observed in 4 patients, abscesses in the periodontal bone in 2, and edematous hypertrophic gingivitis in 1 patient. All patients were treated with vilprafene. Pyorrhea ceased, hyperemia and edema of the gingival mucosa resolved after treatment in 39 (92.8%) patients.

Purpose: overexpression/amplification in wild-type (WT) metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC; human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 [HER2]-positive mCRC) appears to be associated with limited benefit from anti-EGFR antibodies and promising responses to dual-HER2 inhibition; however, comparative efficacy has not been investigated. We conducted a randomized phase II trial to evaluate efficacy and safety of dual-HER2 inhibition against standard-of-care anti-EGFR antibody-based therapy as second/third-line treatment in HER2-positive mCRC.

Methods: Patients with -WT mCRC after central confirmation of HER2 positivity (immunohistochemistry 3+ or 2+ and in situ hybridization amplified [HER2/CEP17 ratio >2.

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is defined by an insufficient insulin response to counteract the insulin resistance (IR) that arises from the physiological adaptations associated with pregnancy. However, the pathophysiology of IR is complex and unclear, as it encompasses elements such as epigenetics, environmental factors, modifiable lifestyle factors, and psychosocial factors.

Aim: The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of GDM and other maternal factors on IR markers in comparison to mothers with normal glucose tolerance during pregnancy in the first week postpartum.

A diversity of perineal techniques are utilised to prevent perineal trauma and reduce the incidence of PPH; however, they lack evidence-based comparisons to understand their effects.
