Functional foods offer health benefits that extend beyond basic nutrition, addressing critical public health challenges such as diabetes and hypertension. This study developed a novel lactic acid bacteria (LAB)-fermented beverage integrating sea buckthorn and monk fruit, two bioactive-rich ingredients with complementary properties. Sea buckthorn provides a robust profile of antioxidants, while monk fruit's natural sweetness and low glycemic index make it an ideal ingredient for health-conscious consumers.

Background: Discussing advance care planning (ACP) preferences for nasogastric tube (NG) insertion remains challenging among older adults. Multimedia decision-making aids have demonstrated potential to enhance understanding and support informed decision-making.
Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of the EATING program (multimedia decision-making aids + traditional educational module) compared to usual care (traditional educational module alone) in improving ACP readiness on NG insertion for community older adults with chronic illness.

Background: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been documented to regulate neonatal acute kidney injury (AKI). Based on previous RNA-sequence findings, circPICALM exhibited significantly disparate expression between AKI newborns and Controls. This study aimed to provide further insights into the regulatory mechanism of circPICALM in neonatal AKI.

Mastering the snatch lift requires physical strength as well as a deep understanding of kinematics, kinetics, and timing, making it one of the most technically demanding athletic feats. While kinematic differences across skill levels are well-documented, kinetic differences are less understood. Exploring the 3D kinetics of the snatch can reveal important insights into the movement patterns, moments, forces, and power involved in the lift, helping to enhance performance for lifters at all skill levels.
