In order to solve the problems of rutting and early fatigue cracks in emulsified asphalt cold recycled pavement, and the shortage of natural stone resources and new environmental hazards caused by the use of traditional limestone powder filler. In this study, coal gangue powder was added to prepare Emulsified Asphalt Mastic (EAM) to improve the rheological properties and fatigue performance. A series of tests, including frequency scanning, temperature scanning, Multiple Stress Creep Recovery (MSCR), Linear Amplitude Scanning (LAS), and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were conducted.

Introduction: In today's fast-paced world, depression and anxiety are the most prevalent health problems, generating high economic and social burdens. Interpretation biases seem to play a pivotal role in this emotional problems, influencing how individuals interpret emotionally ambiguous information. These interpretation biases can emerge due to the activation of latent schemas related to how individuals perceive themselves.

Article Synopsis
  • Al(III)-based adsorbents are effective for fluoride (F) removal but face challenges like instability and recycling issues, prompting the development of a more efficient adsorbent.
  • The new adsorbent, magnetic chitosan/AlOOH/polyethyleneimine (MCAlP), exhibits improved structural stability and significantly enhances fluoride adsorption capacity (14.9 mg/g more than AlOOH) while reducing the time to reach adsorption equilibrium by 120 minutes.
  • MCAlP effectively reduces fluoride concentration from 10.1 to 1.2 mg/L in just 10 minutes, demonstrating robust performance unaffected by coexisting ions, primarily through ion exchange, electrostatic interaction, and surface complexation

Exploring the potential of machine learning models to predict nasal measurements through facial landmarks.

J Prosthet Dent

January 2025

Professor and Chairman, Department of Prosthodontics, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, United States. Electronic address:

Statement Of Problem: Information on predicting the measurements of the nose from selected facial landmarks to assist in maxillofacial prosthodontics is lacking.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify the efficiency of machine learning models in predicting the length and width of the nose from selected facial landmarks.

Material And Methods: Two-dimensional frontal and lateral photographs were made of 100 men and 100 women.

Article Synopsis
  • Entanglement is essential for quantum information processing, but manipulating it effectively remains difficult due to noise and the challenge of obtaining highly entangled pure states.
  • Many techniques exist for distilling these states from noisy versions, often requiring multiple copies, which applies to tasks like quantum teleportation and cryptography.
  • The study shows that using an entangled state as a catalyst for single-copy manipulations offers a powerful alternative, revealing connections between asymptotic and catalytic methods, and emphasizing the role of correlations without improving the distillation rate.
