The possibility of NAE to take part in the regulation of the function of adrenal glands was studied. It was shown that two times NAE (18:0) injection in a dose 5 mg/kg of weight increased the content of 11-hydroxysteroids in blood of intact male rats. NAE caused the raise of the blood hormone content by 4 times under the immobilization stress. It is apparent that augment of stress response under the influence of NAE in vivo is explained by the activation of hypophysis-adrenal cortex system. In vitro NAE lowered steroidogenesis by near 40%. One can suggest that this decrease is caused by membranotropic properties of NAE.

Medications to treat substance use disorders remain suboptimal or, in the case of stimulants and cannabis, non-existent. Many factors have contributed to this paucity, including the biological complexity of addiction, regulatory challenges, and a historical lack of enthusiasm among pharmaceutical companies to commit resources to this disease space. Despite these headwinds, the recent opioid crisis has highlighted the devastating consequences of SUDs for both individuals and society, stimulating urgent efforts to identify novel treatment approaches.

BRAF and MEK inhibitor (BRAFi + MEKi) therapy has improved the treatment of solid tumors with BRAF mutation. However, their neurologic adverse events (nAEs) have been largely unexplored. This study aimed to provide clinicians with more updated knowledge on nAEs associated with BRAFi + MEKi therapy in patients with malignant melanoma compared with nonmelanoma cancers.

Objective: Uromodulin is the most abundant urinary protein in healthy subjects which under physiological conditions protects against kidney stone formation. Acid-base imbalances, especially states with acidic urine, increase the risk for uric acid and oxalate stones, but lower it for phosphate-containing stones. Whether habitual high acid loads and high dietary phosphorus intake (P-In) themselves may influence plasma uromodulin concentrations in the long-term is not known.

Introduction: Dermatomyositis (DM) is an idiopathic inflammatory myopathy. Because of clinical heterogeneity, the metabolite profile of DM patients with different myositis-specific autoantibodies (MSAs) remains elusive. This study aimed to explore the metabolomics characteristics of the serum in DM with different MSAs, low or high disease activity, and interstitial lung disease.
