A simple, rapid, painless, and bloodless method of successfully treating avulsed and partially avulsed teeth with or without associated dentoalveolar fractures is presented for management by the general practitioner in the office. It is a bonding technique with the key elements being a prefabricated malleable mesh backed arch bar in combination with any light curing composite procedure that is standard in the individual's office.

Glycation and aggregation of proteins have garnered more interest in recent years. Glycation leads to the formation of protein aggregates and advanced glycation ends (AGEs) that play crucial roles within several pathological conditions. The objective of our study is to gain a deeper understanding of the formation of AGEs and aggregates of human serum albumin (HSA) in the presence of methylglyoxal and the protective effects of the phytochemical berberine.

2,2'-Thio-bis(4,6-dichlorophenol), namely bithionol, is a small molecule endowed with a multifaceted bioactivity. Its peculiar polychlorinated phenolic structure makes it a suitable candidate to explore its potentialities in establishing interaction patterns with enzymes of MedChem interest, such as the human carbonic anhydrase (hCA) metalloenzymes. Herein, bithionol was tested on a panel of specific hCAs through the stopped-flow technique, showing a promising micromolar inhibitory activity for the hCA II isoform.

An important step in the workflow for a complete arch fixed implant-supported prosthesis is the fabrication of a prototype resin prosthesis to allow the patient to visualize the definitive treatment outcome and also to use as an interim prosthesis. Producing a prototype prosthesis with the natural appearance of the gingival color and contour has been challenging. Current methods include painted stains, manually applied pink composite resin or autopolymerizing acrylic resin, and multicolored resin blocks, but these are all relatively expensive, have less than optimal esthetics, and are labor-intensive and time-consuming.

Mandibular molar distalization is a complex orthodontic movement due to anatomic and biomechanical limitations. The opportunity to use a custom-made appliance with skeletal anchorage should be an advantageous alternative to traditional solutions: multiple extractions, interproximal reductions, vestibular inclination of incisal group. : A 14-year-old female patient with Class II malocclusion and ectopic upper and lower canines was treated in the lower arch with a custom-made appliance anchored on a mini-screw in the right buccal-shelf where the ectopy and crowding was severe.
