Abteilung für Allgemein- und Viszeralchirurgie, DRK-Krankenhausgesellschaft mbH Luckenwalde.

Published: April 2001

From 1.1.1996 till 31.12.1998 59 patients were operated with a histological safed rectal cancer. More than 60% of the 27 female and 32 male were treated at age of 60 and 79 years. The resection rate was 88%. In our study we found one local recurrence of the anastomosis, one paraaortal lympho nodal metastasis and one extra intestinal pelvic recurrence. The rate of hepatic and lung metastasis amounts to 2%. The oncology treatment can also be realized in a hospital of main and regular care without missing high quality standards.

In recent years, it was found that lysine malonylation modification can affect biological metabolism and play an important role in plant life activities. Platycodon grandiflorus, an economic crop and medicinal plant, had no reports on malonylation in the related literature. This study qualitatively introduces lysine malonylation in P.

Leading-edge serrations inspired by owls exhibit the capability to control airfoil-turbulence interaction noise, but the design principle of the serration shape is still an open issue. To this end, we designed five types of serration shapes with different combinations of curvature, namely, triangular, ogee, anti-ogee, feather-like, and anti-feather-like. These curves are applied to serrated modifications with different bluntness levels (sharp or blunt) and amplitudes (0.

Modification of the Se/MoO Rear Interface for Efficient Wide-Band-Gap Trigonal Selenium Solar Cells.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

January 2025

Institute of New Energy Technology, College of Physics & Optoelectronic Engineering, Jinan University, Guangzhou 510632, China.

Trigonal selenium (t-Se) is a promising wide-band-gap photovoltaic material with a high absorption coefficient, abundant resources, simple composition, nontoxicity, and a low melting point, making it suitable for absorbers in advanced indoor and tandem photovoltaic applications. However, severe electrical losses at the rear interface of the t-Se absorber, caused by work function and lattice mismatches, limit the voltage output and overall performance. In this study, a strategy to enhance carrier transport and collection by modifying interfacial chemical interactions is proposed.

The role of endogenous cannabinoids (endocannabinoids; eCBs) in cognitive-related processes has been demonstrated in preclinical studies. However, observational studies are lacking. We examined the associations of multiple circulating eCBs and eCB-like molecules with cognitive function in a sample of dementia-free older adults.

Circadian Rhythms and Lung Cancer in the Context of Aging: A Review of Current Evidence.

Aging Dis

January 2025

Department of Medical Oncology, Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, School of Medicine, Tongji University, Shanghai, China.

Circadian rhythm is the internal homeostatic physiological clock that regulates the 24-hour sleep/wake cycle. This biological clock helps to adapt to environmental changes such as light, dark, temperature, and behaviors. Aging, on the other hand, is a process of physiological changes that results in a progressive decline in cells, tissues, and other vital systems of the body.
