Introduction: Surgical trauma induces a metabolic stress response, resulting in reduced insulin sensitivity and hyperglycaemia. Postoperative insulin resistance (IR) is associated with postoperative complications, and extended preoperative fasting may further aggravate the postoperative metabolic stress response. Nutritional strategies, such as carbohydrate loading (CHL), have been successfully used to attenuate postoperative IR.

Overweight and obesity (OWO) are linked to dyslipidemia and low-grade chronic inflammation, which is fueled by lipotoxicity and oxidative stress. In the context of pregnancy, maternal OWO has long been known to negatively impact on pregnancy outcomes and maternal health, as well as to imprint a higher risk for diseases in offspring later in life. Emerging research suggests that individual lipid metabolites, which collectively form the lipidome, may play a causal role in the pathogenesis of OWO-related diseases.

Neuroblastoma (NB) is a rare embryonal neuroendocrine tumor that primarily affects children aged 5 years old or younger. In advanced stages, NB requires a multifaceted treatment approach, including a combination of surgery, chemo, and radiation therapy. However, high-risk NB is still associated with poor prognosis, long-term side effects, and a high chance of relapse.

Dihydroporphyrin iron (DH-Fe) is a novel plant growth regulator that plays significant roles in plant stress resistance. We found that is extremely sensitive to low temperature (LT) with a threshold of 25°C. To evaluate whether and how DH-Fe alleviates LT stress in , different DH-Fe concentrations (0, 10, 20, and 40 μg·L) were applied to estimate its effects on C and N metabolism and antioxidative capacity in grown under 20°C.
