On peripheral lymphocytes of eight cancer patients undergone whole-body therapeutic irradiation (at daily dose of 10 cGy up to total dose of 50 cGy of 60Co gamma-rays) the dose-response of unstable chromosome exchanges (dicentrics and centric rings) was studied. This dose response fitted well linear function. The lower slope of dose-response curve was found for in vivo irradiated lymphocytes as compared to the dose response curve obtained for in vitro irradiated lymphocytes of the same patients. This finding seems to provide evidence that in case of protracted irradiation of individuals an absorbed dose could be underestimated if for biological dosimetry an in vitro dose response curve for unstable chromosome aberrations is used as referent one.

Aim: To characterize the differences of dynamic changes for absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) among esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) patients treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) with or without pembrolizumab, as well as to investigate the clinical and lymphocyte-related organs dosimetric parameters that would impact ALC nadir during nCRT.
Materials And Methods: A total of 216 ESCC patients who received nCRT (with pembrolizumab 144; without pembrolizumab: 72) were identified from a prospective cohort. Weekly and 1-month post-nCRT ALC were identified.

Objectives: This study intended to explore whether the protective effect safflower yellow injection (SYI) on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats mediated of the NLRP3 inflammasome signaling.
Methods: The I/R model was prepared by ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery for 45 min and then releasing the blood flow for 150 min. 96 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham group, I/R group, Hebeishuang group (HBS), SYI high-dose group (I/R + SYI-H), SYI medium-dose group (I/R + SYI-M) and SYI low-dose group (I/R + SYI-L).

Background & Aims: The ubiquitin receptor ADRM1/Rpn13 governs the specificity of eukaryotic protein degradation. By SMRT sequencing, we first discovered a novel spliced variant of ADRM1 with a skipped exon 9, termed ADRM1-ΔEx9, in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This study aimed to elucidate this novel ubiquitin receptor's underlying biology and clinical implications in HCC.

Objective: The objective of this study was to conduct a longitudinal assessment of inter-twin growth and Doppler discordance, to identify possible distinct patterns, and to investigate the predictive value of longitudinal discordance patterns for adverse perinatal outcomes in twin pregnancies.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included twin pregnancies followed and delivered at a tertiary University Hospital in London (UK), between 2010 and 2023. We included pregnancies with at least three ultrasound assessments after 18 weeks and delivery after 34 weeks' gestation.

This study investigated the effects of a novel bombesin-related peptide (BR-b), derived from the skin of the Chaco tree frog (Boana raniceps), on glucose homeostasis in non-obese and hypothalamic-obese male rats. Hypothalamic obesity was induced in neonatal rats through high-dose administration of monosodium glutamate (MSG; 4 g/kg), while control animals (CTL) received an equimolar saline solution. At 70 days of age, both MSG and CTL groups underwent an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT; 2 g/kg) with or without prior intraperitoneal administration of BR-b at doses of 0.
