This work presents a facile, ultrasensitive, and selective chemiresistive biosensor assisted by an adaptive signal extraction algorithm (ASEA) for detecting vimentin, a potential biomarker for ovarian cancer detection. The low-cost device, fabricated on a PCB substrate through sacrificial copper etching, features a 3D-IDE design with interwoven comb-like structures mimicking the natural symmetry of a droplet. An unequal count of positive and negative concentric circle fingers ensures a uniform, higher electric field over the sensor's surface, as verified by COMSOL Multiphysics 3D simulation.

Although separation is entropically unfavourable, it is often essential for our life. The separation of very similar macromolecules such as deoxyribonucleic acids (DNAs) and their single nucleotide variants is difficult but holds great advantage for the progress of life science. Here we report that a particular liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) at a solid-liquid interface led to the partitioning of DNAs with nearly identical structures.

Background: The security and privacy of health care information are crucial for maintaining the societal value of health care as a public good. However, governance over electronic health care data has proven inefficient, despite robust enforcement efforts. Both federal (HIPAA [Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act]) and state regulations, along with the ombudsman rule, have not effectively reduced the frequency or impact of data breaches in the US health care system.
