Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) aroused our interest when we were engaged in related experiments, so we decided to study its effects on organs, tissues, and aging-related metabolic and hormonal markers when administered in acute or chronic (oral) doses at various time points in its cyclic circadian pattern. We also wanted to determine what effects, if any, it had on aging processes in two essential systems, namely gonadal-reproductive and kidney-urinary. Our results show positive changes as a result of short-term acute and long-term chronic oral administration of TRH to old mice that included rapid correction to more juvenile levels of most typical aging-related hormonal and metabolic measurements.

Background: Although germ cells in boys with Klinefelter syndrome (KS) are reduced in number as early as infancy, a severe germ cell loss occurs during mid-puberty. Therefore, we wanted to detect spermatogenesis at an early stage and investigate the strategy of preserving spermatozoa and/or testicular spermatogonial stem cells in adolescents with KS when signs of deteriorating spermatogenesis are observed.
Methods: Tanner staging, testicular size, serum inhibin B and spermaturia were assessed every 4 months before the attempt to procure gametogenic cells in seven non-mosaic 47,XXY adolescents, aged between 10 and 16 years.

Objectives: We wanted to show early and late biochemical, histopathological, and apoptotic changes caused by unilateral spermatic cord torsion in ipsilateral and contralateral testicles and the effect of the poly (adenosine triphosphate-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor, nicotinamide, on these changes in early and late periods.
Materials And Methods: Forty-seven Wistar albino rats were divided into 2 major groups as early and late periods. Subsequently, each group was divided into subgroups as control, sham, torsion-detorsion (TD), TD treated with saline (TDS), and TD treated with nicotinamide (TDN).

Background: Banking of testicular tissue from pre-pubertal boys before gonadotoxic treatment is a crucial step in fertility preservation. We wanted to find optimal methods for cryopreservation of testicular tissue from pre-pubertal boys, modifying techniques developed for fetal and adult human testicular tissue cryopreservation.
Methods: Testicular tissue was collected from five pre-pubertal boys undergoing gonadotoxic treatment in a clinical programme.
