Benzene kresoxim-methyl (BKM) is an important methoxyacrylate-based strobilurin fungicide widely used against various phytopathogenic fungi in crops. Uptake, translocation and accumulation of BKM in vegetables remain unknown. This study was designed to investigate uptake, translocation, and accumulation of C-BKM and/or its potential metabolites in Chinese flowering cabbage and water spinach.

Carbamazepine (CBZ) is an antiepileptic drug that is frequently detected in wastewater treatment plants, soil and plants after irrigation with treated wastewater or application of biosolids. However, little information is available on the fate and uptake of CBZ in edible vegetables. In this study, radioautographic visualization of the C distribution revealed that C-CBZ can be taken up by all three ready-to-eat vegetables.

The present study was undertaken for the purpose of the comparative analysis of the degree of severity and inflammation-induced changes in palatine tonsils of the patients presenting with non-anginous forms of chronic tonsillitis both on the side of development of paratonsillitis and on the opposite side showing no visually visible signs of the acute inflammatory process. The secondary objective of the study was to compare pain syndrome during abscess-tonsillectomy and tonsillectomy proper, respectively. We analysed the causes behind the reduction of the total number of tonsillectomies for the treatment of chronic tonsillitis available from the accessible literature for the past 10 years.

During drug discovery and development stage, often the question is raised as to whether the drug can reach the site of action which helps researchers better assess the potential value of that compound as a pharmaceutical product and toxicological outcomes. High performance liquid chromatography coupled to a tandem mass spectrometer (HPLC-MS/MS) has totally replaced HPLC methods that use UV or other detectors for most drug analysis applications. However, HPLC-MS/MS approaches are not able to provide the answer to certain questions regarding the distribution of a drug in various organs or tissues from laboratory animal experiments.

The selective and potent aminopeptidase N inhibitor [125I]RB 129 has been used for the radioautographic localization of this enzyme in rat brain, spinal cord and intestine. Brain microvessels and intestine brush-border cells were shown to present a high concentration of aminopeptidase N. Moreover, a labeling of various brain structures was observed.
