In the past years, advances in pediatric cardiovascular surgery have occurred in many areas with some of the greatest strides being made in complex repairs in younger age groups. Aggressive early corrections while higher risk, may in the long run provide a child with a normal anatomic heart, and corresponding myocardial growth and physiology.

We report a photoredox-catalyzed three-component sulfonaminoalkynylation of alkenes with -aminopyridine salts and potassium alkynyltrifluoroborate salts. This aminoalkylation reaction underwent a radial/polar crossover mechanism, which was distinguished from the previous reports. A variety of β-alkynylated sulfonamides were obtained in moderate to excellent yields.

Objective: Although studies have examined changes in C-reactive protein (CRP) during pulmonary exacerbations (PEX) in people with cystic fibrosis (PwCF), few have evaluated CRP profiles across age groups. Here, we characterize age-related CRP responses to PEX treatment.
Methods: We measured CRP concentrations at the beginning and end of intravenous (IV) antibiotic therapy for PEX in 100 pediatric and 147 adult PwCF at 10 US CF Centers.

Neuroblastoma (NB) is a rare embryonal neuroendocrine tumor that primarily affects children aged 5 years old or younger. In advanced stages, NB requires a multifaceted treatment approach, including a combination of surgery, chemo, and radiation therapy. However, high-risk NB is still associated with poor prognosis, long-term side effects, and a high chance of relapse.

This review aims to explore genetics, the cardiac and extracardiac manifestations of mutations associated with CPVT, and the challenges involved with managing phenotypically variable variants.
Recent Findings: The understanding of the genetics and mechanisms of CPVT continues to grow with recent discoveries including alternative splicing of cardiac TRDN and calmodulin gene variants.

Cardiac arrest (CA) is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention. Considerable advances in resuscitation have led to an increasing number of patients who survive the initial arrest event. However, among this growing patient population, morbidity and mortality rates remain strikingly high.
