The aim of the present post marketing study was to study the safety and efficacy of supirocin-B ointment (mupirocin 2% + betamethasone dipropionate 0.05%) in the treatment of infected dermatoses. For this purpose physicians from different parts of India were requested to keep the clinical records prospectively as per a specially designed proforma over a follow-up period of 7 days, whenever they prescribed supirocin-B ointment (mupirocin 2% + betamethasone dipropionate 0.05%) for local application, three times a day, to their patients having either primary infection complicated by dermatoses or dermatoses infected secondarily. From the analysis of 251 clinical records contributed by 27 physicians, it was evident that in clinical practice, supirocin-B ointment (mupirocin 2% + betamethasone dipropionate 0.05%) was found to be safe and very effective by physicians in the treatment of infected dermatoses in 94.8% of the patients. Similarly 92.4% of the patients reported more than 70% improvement in their symptoms after 7 days of treatment. No adverse effects were reported during the treatment period by any of the patients except worsening of skin lesions by one patient. Thus from this study, supirocin-B ointment (mupirocin 2% + betamethasone dipropionate 0.05%) seems to be safe and effective in the treatment of infected dermatoses.

Periungual pyogenic granulomas are benign vascular tumors that present as painful, round, spontaneously bleeding lesions composed of rapidly proliferating capillaries and excess tissue. The vast majority of pyogenic granulomas are caused by physical trauma or infectious agents and they may resolve spontaneously. Herein, we highlight a very rare case of periungual pyogenic granulomas induced by the regularly prescribed oral retinoid acitretin during treatment for congenital palmoplantar keratoderma.

Pemphigus is a group of autoimmune intraepidermal blistering diseases caused by immunoglobulins directed against keratinocyte cell surface components. In this case report, we identify a non-classical paraneoplastic pemphigus (PNP) foliaceous related to an undifferentiated uterine sarcoma. The patient is a 54-year-old Chinese female with a past medical history of arthritis who presented with worsening fatigue in November 2017 and an itchy, blistering, erythematous annular plaque that first appeared on her chest in February 2018.

The 'soak and smear' regimen is a highly effective method for localised topical therapy employed by dermatologists for widespread inflammatory skin conditions. Purpose: We describe a woman with perianal and periumbilical dermatitis secondary to group G Streptococcus, summarize the salient features of this condition, and review other cutaneous conditions that clinically mimic streptococcal dermatitis of the umbilicus.
Background: Periumbilical and perianal streptococcal dermatitis are conditions that commonly occur in children and usually result from beta-hemolytic group A Streptococcus. Rarely, non-group A streptococcal and staphylococcal infections have been reported in adults.
