We conducted the current systematic review and meta-analysis to critically review and synthesize available evidence regarding the association between sleep duration, sleep quality, and chronotype with the Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) among the general population using observational studies. Online databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and ISI Web of Science, were searched from the earliest available date until December 2024. We enrolled 62 studies with a total sample size of 328,493.

To evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on HIV mortality rates with a focus on demographic predictors and Medicaid access. Using Wide-Ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research, we conducted a descriptive study comparing HIV mortality in the United States 2 years before the COVID-19 pandemic (2018-2019) and the initial 2 years of the pandemic (2020-2021), and identifying HIV mortality factors during the pandemic. During the first 2 years of the pandemic, crude HIV death rates increased and then decreased marginally.

Lipotoxicity, resulting from the buildup of excess lipids in non-adipose tissues, is increasingly recognized as a major contributor to the progression of kidney disease, highlighting the need for alternative models to assess its effects on renal cells. The main aim of this study was to investigate the usefulness of Caki-1, a human proximal tubule (PT) and renal cell carcinoma (RCC) representative cell line, as a 3D model system for studying free fatty acid-induced PT lipotoxicity. Caki-1 spheroids were generated and maintained on ultra-low attachment plates and characterized regarding time-dependent morphology changes.

However, medically complex children and adults under 50 years old represent a small (about 5%) but highly vulnerable subset of nursing home patients. We measured the impact of HCBS spending on short-term and long-term nursing home stays by children and adults under 44 years old and compared the impact between Non-Hispanic White (NHW) individuals and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).
