Osteosarcoma is an aggressive bone malignancy with a high propensity for drug resistance and metastasis, leading to poor clinical outcomes. This study investigates the role of core 1 β1,3-galactosyltransferase 1 (C1GALT1) in osteosarcoma, focusing on its implications in chemoresistance. Our findings reveal that high expression of C1GALT1 is associated with advanced stages, adverse overall survival, and increased recurrence rates.

Cancer cells in the tumour microenvironment use various mechanisms to evade the immune system, particularly T cell attack. For example, metabolic reprogramming in the tumour microenvironment and mitochondrial dysfunction in tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) impair antitumour immune responses. However, detailed mechanisms of such processes remain unclear.

Cancer Stem Cells (CSCs) play an important role in the development, resistance, and recurrence of many malignancies. These subpopulations of tumor cells have the potential to self-renew, differentiate, and resist conventional therapy, highlighting their importance in cancer etiology. This review explores the regulatory mechanisms of CSCs in breast, cervical, and lung cancers, highlighting their plasticity, self-renewal, and differentiation capabilities.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a lethal malignancy with a poor overall survival rate. Cellular stress response pathways promoting cancer cell fitness in harsh tumor microenvironment (TME) play a critical role in cancer growth and survival. The influence of oncogenic Kras, multi-functional heterogeneous cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), and immunosuppressive TME on cancer cells makes the disease more complex and difficult to treat.

Background: Motor neuron disease (MND) is a heterogeneous neurodegenerative disorder, with nearly 50 % of patients exhibiting cognitive and behavioral symptoms in addition to motor decline. Anxiety and depression, though frequently observed in this population, have been understudied in relation to motor and extra-motor profiles.
Objectives: Our study addresses this gap by validating the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale for Motor Neuron Disease (HADS-MND) and investigating the interplay between mood, clincial, and frontotemporal symptoms in a large sample of MND patients.
