MRI is now an important diagnostic tool in medical management. There are numerous safety issues to be considered by the clinicians prior to requesting an MRI examination for their patients. These include those related to the magnetic field, gradient magnetic fields, the patient and contrast medium. This paper discusses the dangers and necessary precautions essential to reduce the risk of untoward complications from MRI.

Minimally invasive mitral valve surgery (MIMVS) is revolutionizing the field of cardiothoracic surgery by offering patients less invasive alternatives to conventional sternotomy. This article reviews recent research and studies on the outcomes, challenges, and considerations surrounding MIMVS. Comparative studies reveal that while MIMVS offers advantages such as shorter hospital stays and reduced recovery times, it shows no significant differences in mortality or long-term quality-of-life outcomes compared to traditional methods.

We developed a responsible conduct of research (RCR) workshop and associated curriculum for undergraduate trainees in a quantitative clinical research program.
Methods: Topics in this 7-module RCR workshop are relevant to undergraduate trainees in quantitative fields, many of whom are learning about these concepts for the first time.

Patients with progressing facial vitiligo who had been treated with upadacitinib, 308 nm excimer light and upadacitinib combined with 308 nm excimer light were selected for retrospective analysis and comparison of their efficacy and safety. Efficacy was evaluated using the Vitiligo Area Severity Index (VASI) and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) at baseline, after 8 weeks, and after 20 weeks. The progression of skin lesions was monitored through reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM), while adverse reactions were documented.
